Accounts
The Parish Council is funded by an Annual Precept, currently £39,000, from annual rates. The Parish Council sets a precept demand each year based on a budget of the expected expenditure for the year ahead . This sum of money is then collected by South Staffordshire District Council as part of the annual rates demand. It currently costs an average of £ 46 per household to fund the Parish Council and its activities.
The Parish Council has two bank accounts with Lloyds Bank. A Business Reserve Account and a Current Account. Payment of approved invoices are made by cheque signed by two councillors or by Bank Transfer following approval at a Council Meeting in accordance with Financial Regulations.
The accounts are maintained electronically using " Cashbook Complete" , a limited accountancy software, by the Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer. A summary of the accounts is presented to the Council at each meeting.
An internal audit of the account is carried out every year by an independent auditor. The accounts are submitted for audit each year for external audit and an Annual Audit and Governance Report is published.
